Anonymous: I would point you to the very bottom of my page :) As I said, it's nice to "see" people -- people, as opposed to numbers and IP addresses! Glad to hear you enjoy my blog.

There is always many more people reading and enjoying than commenting actually. You can have statistics of your blog runned through some free service online, actually. Congratulations once more for your moving (forward)... I think I'm few steps behind where you are, and that's why I really enjoy your blog so much! :)

Well how about that! (Another link: Electrolux - History). I honestly thought Electrolux was French for all these years (I didn't know the Arthur Martin name until very recently); I'll correct my mistake... those darn Swedes! :)

Bouks I'm surprised I made it so far. In a way it was a great experience for regaining confidence in myself, but so much has been due to the generosity of others too (which helped me regain confidence in people!). I'm finally at the point now where those awful few years are behind me; I'm no longer paying for them.

I bought my washer and dryer at BHV 7 years ago, also from the same people who made your refrigerator. Both are still running with NO problems. When I first bought them, I always felt like hugging them--no more lugging my laundry two blocks on foot to the laundromat.

For some reason, I had always thought of Arthur Martin/Electrolux as a British company. So I googled around and discovered, gasp!, that it's the same nation that gave the world IKEA, the Swedes. They even have a 24-minute video documentary on their history.

Here we learn that Electrolux factories were taken over by the Germans in Germany and France. But the Swedish factories stayed independant. Where the Arthur Martin brand name came from, I could not determine.
