Another au revoir

For several reasons, including time and privacy, I’m going to stop posting here. I will continue taking photographs (my flickr stream).

All the best to readers, and many thanks to those who have contributed personally — it was and is much appreciated.

I’m still available at my email address on the right, under the “Meta” header. (That said, I won’t answer if it’s just to ask how to become a translator, how to find a job in France, or how to move to France. There’s a reason people are paid to give that kind of advice.)

I hear you strongly, on the privacy concerns. I try to keep a fairly hidden presence on the web. Good luck in your (southerly, compared to me up here in Paris) endeavors. I’ve always read your posts, as an interesting contrast to my 12 years in Paris (much more cloudy climate… the crowded big-city environment).

I will miss your posts – you’re a good writer, but I will check your flicker from time to time to see how Kanoko is doing. Best of luck

Will miss you and Kanoko. If you set up a private blog, please let me know. And good luck with the neighbor.

I will truly miss your posts since your blog is my favorite.

Thanks all, I’ll miss you too! Visitor appreciation was what kept me writing for the last few months.

I had thought of making a private blog, but that gets awkward quickly — long story short, it’s simpler, and safer from a privacy standpoint, to just stop entirely.

Gosh, I’ll miss your posts. I’ve been popping in from time to time and have always enjoyed reading about your life in Nice, your cat, your many creative projects. The episode with the nut job next door was quite unsettling and I wish you a rapid resolution. Maybe you will come back after life becomes less complicated.

    Bonne route! Bises,
    Adella

I found your blog and have always enjoyed checking in. I was in Nice a year ago and thought it was just wonderful. I really liked reading your blog and wil l miss it as I sit in my cubicle staring at the grey walls. Much luck and happiness to you. You’re living the dream….

I’ll miss the glimpses into your life and Kanoko’s, too. Take care of yourself and good luck with your neighbor.

I am sad! We moved to Lyon almost 7 years ago, and after a bout of homesickness that had me searching for American expat blogs, yours was one of the first I found. I remember living through the Malo crisis (and telling people what a cool name this cat had!) and now your neighbor. I wish you all the best and hope if you decide to blog again I find out somehow.

Thanks again, everyone! If I do blog again I’ll certainly make a post here to say so. In the mean time I am still updating Flickr pretty regularly, though mostly with garden photos (I just don’t have time lately…!).

So long, Strawberry. You were one of the first & greatest southern France bloggers. Enjoy your privacy!
